Enter Network Name or edit, set your Broadcast Network Name (SSID) preference, select the Security Type, and enter or change the password.

Select the Show Advanced Options checkbox to configure the Broadcast Channel, Maximum Connections, and Timeout Settings.

Tap SAVE to continue.

With the newly configured settings, the hotspot will turn off and turn back on in a moment.

Connect to the Mobile Hotspot

Do you want to connect another device to your hotspot, then turn on the Wi-Fi feature on the device you want to connect to your hotspot?

Discover hotspot using the network name shown in the Configure Mobile Hotspot screen, and enter the necessary information.

USB Tethering

Tap the slider to turn on USB tethering.

Are you connected to a wireless access point? If so, you will be disconnected before you can turn on tethering?

Mobile Hotspot Password Change on Samsung Galaxy J7 V / Galaxy J7

From the Home screen, navigate to ‘Apps’ > select ‘Settings’ > click ‘Mobile Hotspot & Tethering’ > and then tap ‘Mobile Hotspot.’

If the option is unavailable, tap the Switch off to turn off Mobile Hotspot.

Password must be eight characters or more.

Go to ‘Settings’ > then select ‘Connections’ > tap ‘Mobile Hotspot and Tethering’ > choose ‘Mobile Hotspot.’

Click “Menu,” then tap Configure Mobile Hotspot.

Configure any of the following: Network name, Security, Password, Power saving mode.

Please note that this option reduces battery usage by signaling Mobile Hotspot traffic.

Tap SAVE at the lower-right corner.

Timeout Settings

On the Home interface, swipe up or down to locate the Apps screen.

Please note that these instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.

On your phone, go to ‘Settings’ > tap ‘Connections’ >then select ‘Mobile Hotspot and Tethering’ > choose ‘Mobile Hotspot.’

Tap or click the Menu icon “Menu,” then choose ‘Timeout settings.’

Pick an option (e.g., ‘Never timeout’, ‘5 minutes’, ’10 minutes’, ’60 minutes’, etc.)
